The current state of the build: The walls have just been spray foamed with closed-cell spray foam by VFI, inc. Plumbing and electrical are functional. Ceiling has bead board cladding. The Nova features a split-level sleeping loft with FULL headroom and enough space for a traditional queen sized bed frame. Worried about storage? The Nova has ample storage, under the loft, in the built-in bench seating, above the bathroom, in the kitchen pantry/bookshelf/ladder, in five IKEA kitchen cabinets, built-in shelving, and bathroom water closet. Half of the under loft storage is accessible from the outside, which makes it a great place to store your belongings that would normally go into the shed. The Nova is all electric, ready for a 50 Amp hook up. Appliances include an induction cooktop, convection oven, ¾ apartment fridge, TwinFresh Energy Recovery Ventilation unit, 12-gallon Whirlpool water heater, two 4-foot Comfort Cove radiant heaters, and a Nature's Head composting toilet. The exterior siding is cedar, stained with a semi-transparent oil based stain on both sides. Exterior sheathing features the state of the art ZIP system and rain screen battens to keep the siding dry and safe from mold. Closed-cell spray foam insulation in the floors, walls, and ceiling combined with a TwinFresh Energy Recovery Ventilation unit does good work in resolving potential condensation and mold issues prevalent in tiny houses. It will have ¼' plywood 'drywall-esque' walls, a natural beadboard ceiling, and engineered hardwood flooring. The IKEA kitchen finish is Haggeby White.
